The water may be good in this beautiful desert, but it sure is hard. Therefore, it is important to decalcify (descale) the espresso maker/coffee machine, etc. on a regular basis—every 2 to 3 months is usually good. Actually, every two is preferable. The method used:

- 50/50 mix of water/distilled white vinegar. (2 cups/2 cups, if you have the capacity.) You can also purchase special cleaners, but vinegar works really well.
- If it is a drip coffee maker, run all of it through. If it is an espresso machine, run half through the espresso maker and half through the steam wand.
- Rinse by running water through the machine using the same amount and process used to clean. (4 cups.)
- Then, rinse again.

Also, some use distilled water to avoid the build-up of minerals in their machines. A good water filter works well, if you are not interested in using distilled water.



Speaking of vinegar as a cleander, here are other uses.

Sometimes you just want to look for properties from home, without having to talk with an agent. Palm Desert, Palm Springs, La Quinta, Indio, Bermuda Dunes, Thousand Palms, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, Cathedral City, Coachella, it makes no difference, as we want to search in the comfort of our home's air conditioning.
