If you like Japanese food, and who doesn't, then try Matsuri. (For those who have been around for awhile, it used to be Midori, but Midori moved and Matsuri took its place—and it is better than the moved Midori.)

This is one of the few places where you can have good sushi in the desert. For those non-raw fish eaters, they have a lot of other good eats, such as the teriyaki chicken and tempura.

    Great lunch menu.

    Goody's Cafe

Goody's has a bit of everything, and it is solid. Nothing fancy, but good and plentiful diner food. THis is the place to go when you want a berger and your other half wants a salad, and the kids want a waffle, a omlette, curly fries and a burrito.

There are a few locations, but the one address we know is near the corner of Washington and Country Club in Palm Desert.

    La Quinta Baking Company

The sandwiches are good, and the bread is wonderful. Outside seating. It's a nice play to go for a sandwich with great fries. They serve dinner too, often with a very authentic waitress.

John Hug is the owner, and you can usually find him on site being friendly with the patrons.
